Frequently Asked Questions

A standard bed frame holds your mattress in one fixed, flat position. An adjustable bed frame uses a motorised base to raise and lower the head and foot sections independently, so you can sit up, elevate your legs or lie flat at the touch of a button. Mattress support is not compromised, it simply moves with you.
Ecosa adjustable beds come in queen and New Zealand super king size, so they're designed to suit modern bedrooms for ultimate, personalised comfort.
When looking for mattresses for an adjustable bed, flexible foam and hybrid mattresses work best. Widely compatible, our adjustable beds fit most mattresses and bed frames — including almost all Ecosa models. However, they are not compatible with our TrueFirm Mattress, Bonnell spring mattresses, or mattresses over 40cm in height, so confirm compatibility with your mattress brand before ordering.
Anyone seeking personalised comfort should consider an adjustable bed — from couples to older sleepers or those wanting easier movement and flexible positioning. While adjustable beds may support improved circulation, and elevated rest may help ease symptoms of reflux, GERD, nasal congestion, headaches, snoring, or sleep apnoea — always consult your doctor for any specific health conditions.
The sheets you should use on an adjustable bed are the same as you would for your regular bed. The sheets go over the mattress, not the adjustable bed — just make sure they fit correctly and securely. So opt for ultimate comfort, cooling or both, and rest well. Find your perfect sheets at Ecosa.

How to Use an Adjustable Bed

Using Ecosa’s ErgoLift Adjustable Bed is simple. Thanks to the wireless remote, you can raise or lower the head and foot sections at the click of a button, until you find your ideal position — whether that’s upright, lounging, fully flat, or using one of the three heath-promoting preset buttons:

  • Reading’ button — upright head with slight incline at the feet.
Supports the upper body at a relaxed sitting angle, reducing neck and back strain while easing tension in joints and muscles. Perfect for reading or watching TV, you can relax without putting pressure on the lower back.

  • ‘Anti Snore’ button — slightly inclined at the head.
This position reduces shoulder and neck strain — great for side and back sleepers. Keeping airways open, it may help ease sinus pressure, nasal congestion, headaches, snoring, symptoms of acid reflux, heartburn, and GERD* for a deeper sleep.

  • ‘Zero Gravity’ button — elevated feet with slight incline at the head.
Simulating a NASA-developed, neutral posture for astronauts during take-off, feet are elevated above the heart with weight distributed evenly. Taking pressure off the lower-back, circulation can improve and it may also help ease swelling in legs and feet*.

  • ‘Memory’ button — create your favourite position, and save it.
The preset you design. This button gives you the flexibility to save a preset position that works best for your personal needs and comfort preferences. Fine-tune to find what you love, and make it your Memory setting.

You can also use it as a standalone base, on an existing bed base (on top of slats) or within a bed frame (with slats removed). Before purchasing, besure to confirm with your base/frame brand if they are compatible with adjustable beds.

What is the Difference Between an Adjustable Bed Frame and an Adjustable Bed Base

An adjustable bed base is the moving platform your mattress sits on. An adjustable bed frame wraps that same mechanism in a finished surround, usually with an upholstered bed head, so it looks more like a standard bed. Choose the base (bed) only if you already have a frame or bed head you like, or you want to use your adjustable bed as a standalone base. Choose the frame if you want the complete look. Ecosa adjustable beds come in Queen and King.
